Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) is quickly becoming one of Michigan's premier educational facilities. The administration has made great strides toward creating a beautiful, sprawling campus and offering a full compliment of accredited academic programs.
One of the major changes recently undertaken at the College is a partnership with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). The office building occupied by SME sits on the outskirts of the campus' main road, and when SME downsized their office space, the College took over the now unused section of the building.
HFCC has completely renovated the first and second floors to create a modern, technologically-advanced facility for students and visitors to enjoy. The first level entrance hall features a concierge station and two security desks. A large computer lab makes over 100 computers available to students at any time, and can be utilized as a large group presentation or classroom space. Staff workstations are placed along the rest of the corridor, allowing students access to assistance with scheduling or financial issues at any time. Lastly, a second lab with 75 computer stations is available to professors as a testing space.
The second level is utilized for staff office space. The central spine features two conference rooms, a large kitchen with eating area, document fulfillment workroom, and administrative offices. On either side of the spine are open areas lined with cubicles and work spaces for office staff and student interns.
